Klämdagar (bridge days) in 2026
A klämdag is a single vacation day between a public holiday and a weekend, creating a long weekend. Swedish offices plan them early.
Friday 15 May (best klämdag of 2026)
Ascension Day is Thursday 14 May. Take Friday off for a 4-day weekend — the classic Swedish bridge-day move.
Seasons and daylight (Stockholm)
About 6 hours in December and 18+ in June. The swing surprises almost everyone who did not grow up with it.

When do Swedes take summer holiday?
Much of the business and service sector slows sharply in July — sometimes called the industrial holiday. Three to four consecutive weeks off is normal, not a week at a time. Do not book important meetings with Swedish companies in mid-July without checking first.
North of the Arctic Circle: midnight sun in summer and near-permanent darkness in winter. That is a tourism magnet, not everyday Stockholm.
